What is FODZYME®, and how does it work? Which FODMAPs does it target?Updated 16 days ago

FODZYME® is a dietary supplement that uses a patent-pending blend of natural microbial enzymes to break down specific FODMAP carbohydrates directly in your gut as you eat. When sprinkled on or mixed with high-FODMAP foods, FODZYME®'s enzymes start working immediately, breaking down problematic carbohydrates into simpler sugars that are easier to absorb in the small intestine. This helps reduce the amount of fermentable material reaching the large intestine, where FODMAPs normally trigger symptoms like bloating and gas.

FODZYME® targets three main FODMAP groups:

  • Fructans, found in foods like garlic, onions, wheat, and rye (broken down by a novel fructan hydrolase enzyme)
  • Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), found in legumes, beans, and lentils (broken down by alpha-galactosidase)
  • Lactose, found in dairy products (broken down by lactase)

By addressing these key FODMAPs at the source, FODZYME® helps make high-FODMAP foods more digestible, offering targeted relief for those with FODMAP sensitivities.
