Using FODZYME® with Drinks and LiquidsUpdated 2 days ago
FODZYME® can be mixed directly into drinks and works effectively with liquids that contain FODMAPs. The key is to mix well and consume the drink right away.
How to Use It with Drinks
FODZYME® works in liquids as long as it comes into direct contact with FODMAPs.
Best practices:
- Add your recommended dose directly to the drink
- Stir or shake well to distribute the enzymes
- Drink immediately after mixing
This ensures the enzymes begin breaking down FODMAPs as digestion starts.
Extended Drinking Situations
If you're having multiple beverages over time, you may need to adjust dosing.
For multiple drinks at an event or restaurant (for example, drinking more than one beer, or switching from a glass of milk to a smoothie), add a standard dose for each drink individually.
Once you understand your sensitivities in this type of setting, you can reduce or increase the dosage, as necessary.
Drinks It Works Well With
FODZYME® can be helpful with beverages that contain fructans, GOS, or lactose.
Common examples include:
- Milk and dairy-based drinks
- Smoothies
- Beet juice
- Wheat beer
Any liquid containing these FODMAPs can benefit from proper enzyme contact
When It Won’t Help
FODZYME® only targets FODMAPs - adding it to beverages that are already FODMAP-free will not provide any benefit.
