Is FODZYME® Clinically Proven? Has FODZYME® been tested in real-world conditions?Updated 3 days ago
Yes. FODZYME® is supported by peer-reviewed laboratory research and real-world clinical data showing it effectively breaks down specific FODMAPs and helps reduce digestive symptoms. Its performance has been evaluated both in simulated gut models and in people using it in everyday life.
Clinical & Laboratory Evidence
FODZYME® has been studied using SHIME®, a scientifically validated model of the human gastrointestinal tract.
A peer-reviewed study published in Gastro Hep Advances found that:
- 90% of fructans (equivalent to ~6 cloves of garlic) were broken down within 30 minutes
- 70% of released fructose was absorbed during simulated small-intestinal transit
- Microbial gas production was significantly reduced
- Short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production remained balanced, supporting gut health
This research demonstrates that FODZYME® works before FODMAPs reach the large intestine, where they normally cause gas and bloating. The study was recognized as a Top 15 Basic Science Research abstract by the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) in 2023.
Real-World IBS Study Results
FODZYME® has also been evaluated in a real-world, self-controlled case series involving people with digestive symptoms.
In a 4-week study:
- 131 participants completed the study
- 93 reported a history of IBS
Among participants:
- 73.1% reported overall symptom improvement
- 70.0% experienced less frequent bloating
- 76.3% had fewer daily disruptions from digestive symptoms
- 64.5% reported less food avoidance
- 57.0% reported improved mental well-being
These results suggest that FODZYME® can help people manage symptoms while expanding their diet and improving quality of life.
What This Means for You
Together, these studies show that FODZYME®:
- Reliably breaks down fructans, GOS, and lactose
- Reduces gas production linked to FODMAP fermentation
- Supports symptom relief in real-world eating scenarios
- Helps people enjoy a broader diet with more confidence
FODZYME® does not rely on avoidance—it works by addressing FODMAPs at the point of digestion.
Ongoing Research
We are committed to continuously expanding the scientific and clinical evidence behind FODZYME®. Ongoing and future studies aim to further validate its effectiveness across different populations, diets, and real-world meal settings.
