FODZYME® works best when it’s mixed directly into food and used at the start of meals that contain FODMAPs. Proper timing and dosing help the enzymes break down FODMAPs efficiently and reduce digestive symptoms.


How to Take It

FODZYME® should be sprinkled directly onto food or mixed into your meal.

The enzymes need direct contact with FODMAPs to work effectively. Taking FODZYME® on its own before eating is not recommended, as it limits enzyme–food contact and reduces effectiveness.

For best results:

  • Mix it evenly into solid or liquid foods
  • If food is hot, let it cool to eating temperature (around 140°F/60°C or below) before adding FODZYME®

When to Eat

Eat immediately after adding FODZYME®.

The enzymes begin working as soon as they touch food. Eating right away ensures they have enough time to break down FODMAPs before digestion progresses.


Dosing & Frequency

You can use FODZYME® with every meal, if needed.

Standard dosing:

  • 1 stick pack or 1/4 teaspoon per meal

Adjust as needed:

  • Use 1.5–2 doses for large meals or very high-FODMAP foods
  • Some people use a smaller dose with lower-FODMAP meals to manage FODMAP stacking throughout the day

How often you use FODZYME® depends on your diet and personal tolerance.


If You Forget a Dose

Timing matters.

  • If you remember within 30 minutes of starting a meal, taking FODZYME® may still help
  • If more than 30 minutes have passed, it’s unlikely to be effective

To avoid missing doses, many people keep FODZYME® visible on the table, store it with plates or condiments, carry stick packs in a bag or wallet, or set a phone reminder for mealtimes.


Safety & Amount Limits

You can safely take more than the standard dose if needed.

FODZYME® enzymes work only on food or liquid and are digested like regular proteins. They do not accumulate in your body, and there is no known risk from occasional higher dosing when used as directed.

Using excessive amounts is unnecessary, but there is no evidence of harm when adjusting doses appropriately for meal size.


Long-Term Use

FODZYME® does not lose effectiveness over time.

  • Your body does not develop tolerance to digestive enzymes
  • Each dose provides a fresh supply of enzymes
  • The formulation is stable through its shelf life when stored properly

Whether you use FODZYME® occasionally or long term depends on your FODMAP sensitivities. Some people reduce use as they learn their triggers, while others benefit from ongoing use for dietary flexibility. FODZYME® is safe for long-term use.
