What is the effect of Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) or other acid suppressing medicines on FODZYME’s activity and effectiveness?Updated a year ago

FODZYME is designed to maximize the availability of enzymes to their substrates at the post-prandial gastric pH. Acid suppressing medicines such as Prilosec, Prevacid or Nexium are used to re-establish normal digestive conditions and should not alter FODZYME's ability to target and break down FODMAPs, though this is not something we have tested clinically.

FODZYME, like all digestive enzymes, begins working and breaking down FODMAPs as soon as it comes in contact with the food and for the subsequent 30 minutes following contact. This can be prior to intake (eg. mixing FODZYME into a smoothie or bowl of pasta) as well as while the food and digestive enzymes enter and pass through the digestive tract.

As a precaution, we always recommend consulting with a healthcare provider before incorporating any new supplements into your daily routine.
